Throughout the past couple of years, I’ve gotten the incredible opportunity to design a few pride jerseys for hockey teams which as a queer illustrator, is a dream come true to have been able to do.
VANCOUVER PRIDE JERSEY
For Vancouver Canucks 2022 pride, I was tasked with designing the crest + shoulder crest for their pride night: the design took from British Columbia’s and Vancouver’s nature to tell a story inspired by the queer journey, both relating to the team itself, it’s queer community and my own personal identity.
VEGAS GOLDEN KNIGHTS PRIDE JERSEY
I designed the 2023 Vegas Golden Knights pride jersey – this design was inspired by the neon signs found within the city, and I wanted to showcase the multitude of smaller stories found in Las Vegas, hockey, and the queer community to create a complete patchwork of stories coming together to tell a greater narrative.
LOS ANGELES KINGS PRIDE JERSEY
For the 2023 LA Kings Pride Night, I designed the crest + shoulder patches for their jersey. I was inspired by the sun and the crown to tell a narrative of the rising royal – a narrative of being proud in your own identity and community, tying back to LA, the hockey team & the queer community.
OTTAWA 67's PRIDE NIGHT JERSEY
The design for Ottawa 67's Pride Jersey was inspired by the city of Ottawa – a city many people see as quiet, yet smaller stories coming together to create a beautiful place. Throughout the jersey design, I wanted to honor this narrative in connection with the LGBTQIA+ community.
